This site is for people aged 18 and over. It describes a gaming floor inside the hotel, and the legal age for gambling in the United Kingdom is 18. The overlay on the home page asks you to confirm this. Confirming it when it is not true is a reason for us to refuse you entry at the door, where photo ID is checked on every visit regardless of anything you clicked here.

No gambling is offered on this website

Nothing on these pages is a game, a wager, a bet or an invitation to place one. There is no software to download or account to open, and no deposit or payment of any kind is processed here. Avonhelm Casino is a room on the first floor of the middle house and exists only there. Any site, application or message presenting itself as an online version of it is not connected with us, and we would be glad to be told about it.

Accuracy, and what is not an offer

We keep the pages current and will still occasionally be wrong. Rooms get redecorated, the kitchen changes the menu, the sauna breaks. Nothing here is an offer capable of acceptance: a room exists for you when a member of staff has confirmed it to you directly, and not before. Descriptions, sizes and hours are given in good faith and may change without this page catching up the same week.

No prices appear anywhere on this website. Anyone quoting you one in our name, in writing or otherwise, is not doing so from here.

Intellectual property

The text, the layout, the stylesheet and the mark at the top belong to Avonhelm. You may read them, print a page for your own use and link to any page. You may not copy the text onto another site, republish it, or use the hotel's name or mark to suggest a connection that does not exist. The photographs are used under their own public-domain and CC0 terms; those terms apply to the photographs themselves and not to the rest of the page.

Links out

This site does not link to any other website. If that ever changes, a link out is a convenience and not an endorsement, and what happens on the far side of it is between you and whoever runs it.

On the property

Staying here or coming in for dinner or for the evening puts you under the house rules, which are posted at reception. In short: smoking indoors and abuse of staff are not allowed, dress is as described for the gaming floor, and the duty manager’s decision about who stays is final. We can refuse service or ask someone to leave, and we do not have to explain it at length at the time.

Availability of the site

The pages are static files on a server and will be available most of the time, which is as much as anybody can promise. We may take the site down, change it or stop publishing it without notice. Nothing here depends on the site being up: the telephone works either way.

Liability

We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud, because the law does not allow anyone to exclude those and we would not want to. Beyond that, and as far as the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from relying on something written on this website, for interruptions to it, or for anything indirect or consequential. Your rights as a consumer are unaffected by any of this.

Governing law

This website and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
